Baking a Business, One Cookie at a Time

Mechanical engineering and handcrafted cookies might not seem like an obvious combination—but for Sharon Nanang (Class of 2015), following her passion led to the creation of The Cookie Method.
After deciding that a traditional 9-to-5 career wasn't the right fit, Sharon combined her love of baking with her entrepreneurial spirit to build a business specialising in handcrafted, oversized cookies. Today, The Cookie Method supplies markets, events and custom orders, with every cookie baked fresh in small batches using premium ingredients.
Sharon credits her time at All Saints' College with helping develop the organisation, resilience and work ethic she relies on every day as a business owner. She also fondly remembers taking Food Studies in Years 9 and 10—classes that, in hindsight, sparked the passion that would eventually become her career.
Looking ahead, Sharon hopes to expand into wholesale and corporate orders while continuing to connect with customers at local markets. She also has her sights set on sharing recipe videos and one day publishing a cookbook.
It's wonderful to see Old Saints forging their own unique paths and turning their passions into successful businesses.
