Mark Balding's (Class of 1988) career journey is one of adaptability, innovation and leadership. After completing university studies and commencing a career in hospitality management, he transitioned into the technology sector, where he has spent more than two decades leading teams, driving innovation and delivering transformation across a diverse range of industries.

Throughout his career, Mark has held senior technology and operational leadership roles across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. His experience includes leading national ICT organisations, establishing and growing technology businesses, providing consulting services across multiple sectors, and delivering innovative technology solutions within the mining and aged care industries. He also led a significant digital transformation program at Thermomix Australia and New Zealand.

Today, Mark oversees technology, cyber security, innovation and project delivery at the Royal Flying Doctor Service WA, supporting essential healthcare services for communities across regional and remote Western Australia.

Reflecting on his role, Mark says that supporting the organisation's mission of "Furthest corner, finest care" is what inspires him most. The opportunity to work alongside talented teams and continuously improve services and outcomes for patients and communities remains a key driver of his work.

In addition to his professional achievements, Mark is a valued member of the Old Saints' Committee, serving as Vice President and contributing to initiatives that strengthen connections between alumni and the College.

We thank Mark for his ongoing contribution to the Old Saints' community and look forward to seeing the continued impact of his leadership, both professionally and within the Association.
